You are not who they say you are. You are who Christ says you are. I think a lot of the time we get so caught up with worrying about what everyone else thinks about us that we forget what’s most important. What does God think of me?
You are valuable. You have been made in the image of the most high King. Genesis 1:27 tells us this, “So God created man in his own image.” How amazing is that?
You are loved. God sent His one and only son to save you from yourself and your sins. He allowed His son to die in your place. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:16-17) What greater display of love than to sacrifice the very thing you love most?
You are forgiven. 1 John 1:9 tells us so, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” God is willing to lift our shackles weighted down by sin and mistakes as long as we are willing to lay them out before Him.
You have a purpose. God has created you for a purpose, His purpose. God knew you before you were ever a thought in your parents’ minds. We are called to go out and make disciples. Matthew 18:19, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
