I’ve Called You to be You, not anyone else

Have you ever wrestled with God about something? Like, He wants you to do something , but you aren’t so sure about it. You feel like someone else could do it a lot better than you. Truth be told, I have been wrestling with God over the last few months about writing this blog. I didn’t feel like I was good enough to measure up to the expectations that I had already put on myself for what God was calling me to do. I asked God, “why are you calling me to this? You know I’m not as wise or as eloquent of a blogger as someone like Amy Cloud, Jordan Lee Dooley, or Lysa Terkeurst. They have already done a much better job than I ever could. They could reach a lot more people for you than I could. I think this calling would be better suited for someone else, Lord.” As I finished, I felt God answer me, ” I have not called them to write this blog, I have a different calling for them. I have called you. Trust in me.” I realized in that moment, I had failed to put my trust in the Lord. I put my trust in Kayla, and Kayla can’t do a whole lot without God. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us so, ” Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” I can’t see the whole picture, even though at times I “think” I can. I can only see a little piece of the puzzle. God has the rest. Why would I put all my trust on the one little piece I can see when I should be trusting in the one who has it all? Sometimes we let Satan creep up and cause us to doubt God and what He has really called us to do. He will tell lies and deceive us. We have to hold strong to the Lord. He has created an entire universe in a matter of days, He made bones from dust. I think He knows what He is talking about. We have to put all of our trust in Him. I challenge you to put your trust in the Lord today. When you feel like you are not worthy enough for His calling, cling a little closer to Him and watch His love pour out over you. God bless.
